This is a company that just recently hit the news (May 2022) mostly due to an article in the Economist. It’s a private company that developed out of the Cambridge University research hub. It was originally called Cambridge Nanosystems.<\/p>\n

Its latest product is a self-contained processing plant inside a convenient shipping container. It converts methane, flare gas, into hydrogen and graphene. Usually flare gas is just burned off at resource extraction sites. Turning it into useful products while reducing CO2 emissions seems like a win-win-win situation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

They’re shipping several units to the United Arab Emirates now with the goal of 500 units over 5 years. One of the stumbling blocks to widespread graphene usage in industry has been a reliable, low cost, high quality supply. If the Levidian “Loop” system scales up and is found worldwide at fossil fuel extraction sites it could not only solve the graphene production problem but be a key part of the transition to other energy sources, like hydrogen.<\/p>\n
