Here&#8217;s what\u2019s in the works:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div tabindex=\"0\" role=\"article\" data-tabster=\"{&quot;groupper&quot;:{&quot;tabbability&quot;:2},&quot;focusable&quot;:{}}\" data-content=\"ai-message\" aria-labelledby=\"LXLFVotVjoQSiqa9s2Lzw-author} LXLFVotVjoQSiqa9s2Lzw-content-0\">\n<div id=\"LXLFVotVjoQSiqa9s2Lzw-content-0\" class=\"group\/ai-message-item space-y-3 break-words\">\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Why St. Lawrence?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The town offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordspace.com\/spaceport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ideal orbital launch angles<\/strong><\/a>, making it a strategic location for reaching a wide range of orbits\u2014from equatorial to polar.<\/li>\n<li>NordSpace\u2019s CEO, Rahul Goel, said they \u201cfell in love with the province, the people, the governments and everything else going on there\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"text-md-strong pb-1 [&amp;:not(:first-child)]:pt-3.5\">\ufe0f What\u2019s Being Built?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.nl.ca\/mpa\/files\/Municipal-Plan-Amendments-St.Lawrence-REGISTERED-MPA-2-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Two launch pads<\/strong>:<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Site A<\/strong>: Along Lighthouse Road, featuring radar, a mission control centre, and satellite tracking equipment.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ps-2\"><strong>Site B<\/strong>: At Sauker Head overlooking Deep Cove, designed for rocket launches with hangars, fuel storage, and support infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ps-2\">Rockets will be <strong>16 meters long<\/strong>, 3D-printed, and designed to carry small satellites\u2014not humans\u2014into <strong>low Earth orbit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The spaceport will operate <strong>seasonally<\/strong>, depending on weather conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"text-md-strong pb-1 [&amp;:not(:first-child)]:pt-3.5\">Sustainability &amp; Safety<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>NordSpace is exploring <strong>sustainable fuels<\/strong> and using <strong>non-toxic, aviation-grade kerosene<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ps-2\">Fuel will be stored in certified containers and brought in as needed, with strict regulatory oversight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\ufe0f Local &amp;
